Abrasion Resistance of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete for Railway Sleepers

Abstract This study aimed to determine the abrasion resistance of ultra-high-performance concretes (UHPCs) for railway sleepers. Test samples were made with different cementitious material combinations and varying steel fiber contents shapes, using conventional fine aggregate. A total 25 UHPCs two high-strength (HSCs) selected evaluate their depth wear bulk properties. The results coefficient variation (CV), relative gain in abrasion, index studied also obtained discussed. Furthermore, a comparison was on those HSCs typically used prestressed concrete outcomes this revealed that displayed excellent against well above HSCs. Amongst utilized combinations, silica fume as partial replacement cement performed best whereas mixtures containing fly ash showed highest wear. addition fibers had more positive influence than it did compressive strength UHPCs.
